At Salestrakr, we take the security of your data and your access very seriously, here's how:
Secure Access
All access to Salestrakr, starting with your login and continuing thought your session, is protected by secure HTTP. When you log in, you will notice that the web site you are sent to starts with a 'https'. This tells you that you are on a secure page. All traffic, everything that goes between your browser and our server, is encrypted. No one who manages to see the Internet traffic can see your data. It is protected end-to-end.
Secure Authentication
Your authentication to most web services is only protected by your password. You must therefore safeguard your password to prevent others from logging in as you. However, there have been cases where hackers manage to get a key logger on to people's computers and steal their passwords. To prevent that from happening, Salestrakr offers two factor authentication. If you enable two-factor, a second, one-time password will be sent to your phone via SMS each time you login. You must enter this one-time password to gain access to Salestrakr and your data. Even if someone manages to steal your password, they cannot get into Salestrakr.
Secure Data
Salestrakr's servers are located at two state-of-the-art hosting facilities provided by The Planet. The Planet is the world's largest privately held, dedicated server company. Their data centers have over 22,000 servers and hosts 2.8 million websites. Some of the features of the data canters:
- 24x7 monitoring from a network operations center
- redundant power, heating, air conditioning systems
- SAS 70 Type II compliant security
- multiple, concurrent, high-capacity Tier 1 bandwidth providers
Salestrakr employs advanced data replication. All changes made to any of your data are stored in two physically separate databases. Should a server network outage occur, such as a data center going off-line, we will bring the Salestrakr services back online form our backup data center with no loss of any data.
Secure File Storage
Salestrakr uses an online storage service provided by Amazon. Amazon's S3 file storage service stores all the files uploaded by Salestrakr users. Amazon S3 is the fastest and most reliable online storage system. It is the same system that Amazon uses for their own global e-commerce network. Nearly 30 billion files are currently stored on Amazon S3.
